Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a public speaker, consultant, speaker, columnist syndicated writer, author and television personality. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the business. Corcoran is among ABC's initial Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared on every seasons of Shark Tank. In February of 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the largest being a $350,000 deal that was able to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children from a working-class Irish Catholic family. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., bounced between jobs throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family sometimes relied on free food delivery from a local grocery store. Corcoran says that her father was drunk who was rude to her mother and disrespect. Corcoran was a struggling pupil throughout her schooling. Corcoran later found out that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began the high school system in St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. After failing several courses in her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School in Leonia, where she received a grade of D.
