 Kamala Devi Harris was born on the 20th of October, 1964. She is an American politician. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female to be elected vice president and is also the most powerful female officer in American history. Harris is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. Additionally she was an United States senator representing California between 2017 and 2021. Harris was born in Oakland and attended Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Then she was recruited to join the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she became the San Francisco district attorney. Harris was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010 and was reelected in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California from 2017 until 2021. Harris beat Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election to become the second African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. She was a senator who worked for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A path to citizenship for undocumented migrants. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform.
